Frequently Ask Question's
We maintain a ratio of 1 guide per maximum of 8 clients or 4 kayaks. For groups larger than 8 participants, we’ll include an additional guide.
Hat, sunglasses, camera, sunscreen, insect repellent, long-sleeve top, towel, and a change of dry clothes are recommended. We offer dry bags for your belongings during the day. Anything you prefer to keep dry can be stored at our base.
During the kayak tour, we’ll be mostly on the water, but the guide will plan short breaks as needed. Upon reaching the base, you’ll have time to change and pack your things. Your guide will provide safety instructions and kayak techniques, if required, before we begin. During the tour, we’ll take brief breaks while exploring the mangrove forest and for a quick swim in the main river. When we return in the afternoon, it’s advisable to rinse your personal kayaking gear with fresh water.
The proper fitting of the flotation aid is more important than age. We have taken out kids as young as six years old. Under the age of 12, you need to be accompanied by an adult on a one-to-one basis. If you have young children, please contact us to determine if the trip is appropriate for them.
Strong swimming skills are not essential on guided tours, though some comfort in the water is required. You will need to have a sense of adventure and enjoy spending time outdoors and on the water
A basic level of fitness is recommended for our kayaking trips. The pace will be adjusted to accommodate the group, and we’ll have regular breaks. Our guides will provide you with helpful tips on effective paddling techniques, allowing you to quickly improve your skills. Remember, enthusiasm matters more than fitness.
The weather in Langkawi maintains a consistent hot and humid climate throughout the year, occasionally experiencing rainfall and cloudy skies. However, extreme weather conditions are rare. Positioned on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia within the Malaccan Straits, this beloved island benefits from protection against strong winds and storms, being sheltered by the mainland and Sumatra.
Located near the equator, Langkawi embraces a tropical climate, ensuring relatively calm seas in the Andaman Sea year-round. Thanks to its steady weather patterns, both locals and tourists can explore this tropical paradise at any time of the year.
Safety is our top priority. If our guides determine that weather conditions pose a safety risk for the group, we reserve the right to cancel or terminate a guided tour before it commences.
If the trip is canceled prior to the booking day, we’ll arrange for a rescheduled trip. In case rescheduling isn’t feasible for you, you’ll receive a trip voucher or a full refund. However, be assured that our experience indicates that Langkawi’s weather is typically good for about 98% of our tours

Kayaking At Kilim Geoforest Park

Typically, the mangrove kayaking Langkawi tour sets off at 10 am and concludes around 2 pm for the morning session, or from 3 pm to 7 pm for the evening session. However, please note that the starting time might vary due to Langkawi’s changing tide levels, which shift approximately every 5-6 hours. On favorable days, we may conduct two trips, but on others, only one trip may be feasible.
The narrow canals within the mangrove ecosystem become inaccessible during low tide. At LangkawiGo, we prioritize providing an immersive experience. We believe it’s essential to explore these narrow canals during the Mangrove Tour by Kayak to truly capture the “Nat Geo Wild” essence! Therefore, upon confirming your booking, remain attentive for a confirmation message from our guide regarding the precise starting time.
Our goal is to ensure you experience the best of mangrove kayaking in Langkawi, navigating through these intricate canals for an unforgettable adventure.
